The Daughters of Our Lady of Fatima (DOLF) is a Catholic religious congregation founded in 1952 at Rushoroza Parish, Kabale Diocese, Uganda, by Reverend Sister Amedeo Byabali, a Ugandan religious sister and member of the Daughters of Mary, the first indigenous women’s religious institute south of the Sahara, based in Bwanda, Masaka Diocese.

Inspired by the message of Our Lady of Fatima, the congregation exists to live and proclaim the Gospel through a life of prayer, penance, simplicity, humility, and loving service, all offered for the salvation of souls.

The Daughters of Our Lady of Fatima are devoted to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, striving to imitate her virtues of obedience, humility, trust in God, and total availability to His will. Their spirituality is deeply rooted in union with Christ crucified, accepting life’s limitations with love and offering every sacrifice for the redemption of humanity.

Our Charism and Way of Life

The Sisters seek to make Christ known and loved by living the Gospel in simplicity and authenticity. Following the example of their Foundress, they believe that the most powerful form of evangelization is a life that reflects Christ-like love.

They strive to:

  • Live a life of prayer and contemplation

  • Witness Christ through humility, simplicity, and generosity

  • Serve with compassion, especially the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable

  • Open their hearts and homes in a spirit of hospitality

  • Carry Christ into the world through joyful and faithful service

Their charism calls them to “carry Jesus in their hearts wherever they go,” allowing their daily lives to become a living proclamation of the Gospel.

Mission

The mission of the Daughters of Our Lady of Fatima is to make present the message of Fatima in daily life, guiding people toward conversion, prayer, and deeper communion with God.

They fulfill this mission through:

  • Daily prayer and devotion

  • Teaching and witnessing Gospel values

  • Apostolic service in communities

  • Spiritual accompaniment and pastoral care

  • Outreach to the marginalized in both rural and urban settings

Their mission is lived in fidelity to the Church and in communion with the local bishops who guide and support their apostolate.
